Hevrat Shalom means "fellowship of peace." It's a name we try to live up to.
We're a thriving congregation supporting our members through every life-cycle moment — from naming to mourning.
We're dedicated to the principles of Tikun Olam, and we work to advance tolerance and social justice both inside our community and beyond it. Hebrew and English text and song are woven together — so newcomers and lifelong daveners feel equally at home.

Our name is our organizing principle: a company of people gathered around shared practice, not a building. Everything we do sits somewhere on this circle.

Dues at Hevrat Shalom are considerably lower than most congregations — because we believe belonging shouldn't have a high price of entry. Members get a voice in a genuinely small, egalitarian community, High Holy Day seating, life-cycle support, and a place in the Book of Remembrance.
